PBP Kerry: Water Metering..The next step toward the Privatization of our water supply?

Start Date:
Wednesday, 25 September, 2013 - 20:00

Public Meeting "Selling our Water” Water Metering..The next step to privatization? # The program for installation of domestic water meters has begun throughout the country. How much will this cost? Who will bear the burden of that cost? Our government is pushing on with its program of the privatization of our natural resources. Already they and previous administrations have given away and continue to give away any possible benefit the people of Ireland would stand to gain from the exploitation of natural resources such as oil and gas and even wind power. # Water, the basic necessity of life is being treated as a commercial commodity internationally, to be sold to the highest bidder. In some states the only sources of water have been taken from indigenous populations and given to multinational corporations whose only intention is to make quick and easy profits with not a care for anyone who cannot afford their products. # Do you want to live in a country where only those who can afford prices set by “for profit” companies have access to water? # Is water metering just the latest step in the process of removing the basic human right of access to water from the people of this country? On Wednesday 25th September there will be a Public Meeting in Tralee to discuss the implications of water metering and possible privatisation. All are Welcome. Please come out and have your say. The venue is: The Grand Hotel Denny Street Tralee Wednesday 25th September 8pm Hosted by the People Before Profit Alliance More details: 086 3556842
